Example 1 - Case Discussion

Julia, an experienced colleague, recently assessed a 10-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier exhibiting chronic pelvic limb ataxia and discomfort.

Following an MRI scan which identified two areas of disc protrusion, she is faced with the pivotal decision of whether surgery is warranted, which disc to target, and the potential efficacy of corpectomy as a standalone procedure.

Our service is well-suited to address Julia's concerns. A 30-minute time slot should be ample to discuss the pros and cons collaboratively. Julia can conveniently send us the relevant information (patient’s details, MRI DICOMs, video, etc.) and schedule the call at her convenience.

Example 2 - Virtual Rounds

Wednesday is your day off. In your absence, you rely on a team of residents and colleagues to manage cases. You have three complex cases hospitalised amongst others on Tuesday evening. You would value an experienced colleague’s input for the next morning rounds, but it cannot be you.

To ensure continuous supervision and guidance for challenging decisions, we offer a tailored solution through our 60-minute online sessions.

Each case is meticulously reviewed and provided with an approved plan, allowing for optimised patient triage and workflow upon your return to clinics. If you wish, this can be arranged as a regular practice to maintain continuity and enhance patient care standards.

Example 1 - Remote Locum

You are a veterinary hospital with a multidisciplinary team.

You have a full-time neurologist working at your practice but not on Fridays. Friday is also the day you consistently have neuro-medical, neuro-ophthalmological or neuro-oncological cases. It is Murphy’s law after all!

You would like easy access to a specialist neurology clinician on those days for specialist advice to keep the continuity of care.

We can offer this backup service.

We are your remote colleagues available during the day to offer remote internal consultations and advice to your team.

Example 2 - Remote Supervisor

You have an established team of specialists who deals with new neurological cases daily.

While many cases are straightforward, some pose significant challenges. Although a full-time neurology specialist isn't currently necessary for your team, you believe that establishing a weekly or monthly neurology clinic could greatly enhance your practice.

How might this be accomplished?

By enlisting our remote supervisor service for a day per month to start with.

We would thoroughly review patient histories, examinations, and pertinent results, collaborating with you to create a comprehensive plan. This arrangement offers added value for you, your clients, and your patients alike.

Example 1 - Surgical Training

John routinely performs hemilaminectomies and ventral slots. However, he is encountering an increasing number of cases involving subarachnoid diverticulum and does not feel very confident approaching this surgery alone.

He has identified a few cases as good surgical candidates and would like to be able to offer this surgery to his clients. John seeks training and possibly assistance with one of his cases.

We can arrange theoretical training sessions for him and visit his practice to perform the surgery alongside him.

Example 2 - Electrodiagnostic Training

A veterinary hospital has invested in an electrodiagnostic unit, but the machine has barely been used since its purchase.

The reason: nobody is familiar with the machine or its potential usefulness. You have seen a few cases with suspected neuromuscular disease that could benefit from electrodiagnostic studies. However, you are reluctant to subject the patients to unnecessary anaesthesia. Why not make this a learning opportunity along the way?

We can organise a half-day course to teach the basics of electrodiagnostic studies on site, at your practice. Additionally, we can assist in using your machine on clinical cases to gather more information for investigations. We can also collaborate on establishing standard operating protocols for your machine.
